Course Description

This course examines Ancient Greek epic tales from Homer to Apollonius Rhodius, in English translation. The material studied will include pre-Greek stories like the Enuma Elish and the Epic of Gilgamesh as well as the stories of the Trojan war, the wanderings of Odysseus, and Jason and the golden fleece. PREREQ: CLAS 1006 or permission of the department. (lec 3) cr 3.
