Mr. Thomson has been a librarian at Laurentian since 1975. On top of the three years he spent at the University of Saskatchewan, he now has over 40 years experience. Currently,  he is responsible for English Language Library Instruction, the Institutional Repository LUZoneLU, Interlibrary Loan, Distance Education Library Services, Reference, Collection Development in various subjects as well as  English Language Secondary School Instruction.

In hthe community, he has been a member of the Board of the Sudbury-Manitoulin Children's Aid Society on and off since 1986--serving as President for a total of eight years;  currently he is Second Vice-President of the United Way for the Disticts of Sudbury and Nipissing.

Research Focus

Scholarly Bibliography.

Currently produces an Annual Bibliography of Works by and about Margaret Atwood for the Margaret Atwood Society, a division of the Modern Languages Association.
