A professor in the School of Social Work at Laurentian University, Carol Kauppi has served as the MSW Program Coordinator for several years. Carol is the Director of a five-year research project: Poverty, Homelessness and Migration in Northern Ontario, a Community-University Research Alliance funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council.

Research Focus Carol's research interests have focused in recent years mainly on homelessness in northern communities. Carol conducted a multi-year study on homelessness with the Social Planning Council of Sudbury.
