Khaled Taktek received his Ph.D. in Education Sciences from the University of Quebec at Montreal (1994-2000), where he graduated with highest distinction and his Master's degree in human kinetics from the University of Montreal (1988-1990, also achieved with academic excellence). The impact of Dr. Taktek's research and teaching is widespread. Dr. Taktek currently holds a position as associate professor with the School of Education at Laurentian University (2000-2002; and 2006- in progress). His course assignments are Psychopedagogy of the Adolescent; Educational Psychology; and also Health and Physical Education. Dr. Taktek is accredited by the School of Graduate Studies at Laurentian University to supervise graduate students and he teaches at the Ph.D. level of Human Sciences. He was also the teaching field placement supervisor for the Public and Separate Schools of Ontario.

Dr. Taktek held a position as associate professor with the Military Psychology and Leadership Department of the Royal Military College of Canada (2002-2006), and taught Psychology Research Methods; Introduction to Psychology; Social Psychology; Group Dynamics; Human Factors in Applied Military Sciences; Exercise and Sports Psychology; and Fundamental of Human Psychology courses. From 1998-2000, Dr. Taktek served also as assistant professor/lecturer to the University of Quebec at Hull (UQAH).

Dr. Taktek is a member (consultant/reviewer) of the editorial board of the Journal of Mental Imagery; Canadian Journal of Experimental Psychology; European Review of Applied Psychology; Journal of Child Development Research; Journal of Psychology and Education: Learning and Individual Differences; Revue des Sciences de l`éducation; and Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada. Dr. Taktek is also an expert consultant for the Ontario Ministry of Education; the (Institut d'Analyse Eidétique du Québec; and the (Institut Canadien de l'Image Eidétique).

Dr Taktek has published about twenty refereed articles in scientific journals and presented thirty conference articles with peer review in national and international conventions. He was invited as a lecturer to several symposiums, colloquiums and/or seminars organized by the Ministry of Defense, France Republican; The Ontario Teacher Federation; and ACFAS-Sudbury. He has published several books dealing with the Psychopedagogy of Learning; Exercise and Sport Psychology; and also Motor Learning and Performance.

Research Focus Dr. Taktek contributed as research assistant to several projects carried out at the UQAM Anthropokinetics Department and the University of Montreal, Kinetics Department, also participating in two research practicums with the University of Montreal Interdisciplinary Group on University Education. Previously, he worked for the Montreal School Boards as an elementary and secondary school teacher; and as an adult education personal/social trainer.

Presently, Dr. Taktek is leading several scientific research projects related to: (a) The Psychopedagogy of learning theories: issues, trends and applications in the field of education (Funded by Laurentian University Research Funds, LURF); (b) Health (funded by the Canadian Consortium for Health Promotion); (c) American and Canadian military training (sponsored by the United States Military Academy, the Academic Research Program for Natural Sciences and Engineering at RMC, and LURF); and (d) Exercise and sport psychology (grant application submitted to the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada).
