I am an Assistant Professor with the School of Nursing. I completed my undergraduate BScN at Laurentian University (2000), my MSc at McMaster University (2003), and I am currently completing my PhD at the University of Victoria. Prior to my appointment at Laurentian University, I practiced as a surgical nurse, at Health Sciences North (formally known as St. Joseph's Health Centre).
My research focuses on the role of nurses in caring for patients at the end of life. I am currently completing doctoral studies related to quality of life for hospitalized patients at the end of life. More specifically, my work will evaluate the factors that influence nurses' participation in advance care planning in the hospital setting by employing ethnographic methodology.
