Engineering is a self-regulating profession whose practice is governed by provincial and territorial statutes and has contributed in a major way to the economic and general well-being of society through inventions and product development. It encompasses the practical application of science to the production of goods and services that benefit society.

The Bharti School of Engineering was established at Laurentian University in the Fall of 2011 in recognition of a $10M gift to the School from the family of Stan Bharti, Chair and CEO of merchant bank Forbes & Manhattan. Stan Bharti is also a former guest lecturer for the faculty of engineering. The renowned Bharti School of Engineering is home to more winning teams at the Canadian Mining Games than any other university mining program in the country – 8 championships in 22 years. The University’s Mechanical Engineering program won global recognition through their championship win at the 2011 NASA Lunabotics Competition.

• 1 advanced functions

• 1 of: calculus and vectors, biology, earth & space science or analyzing current economic issues

• 1 other course

• Minimum average of 70%
