Laurentian Students Compete at Ontario 3MT Competition

Jason Corcoran and Sean Thomas will be representing Laurentian University at the Ontario 3MT Competition being held at Queen’s University in Kingston tomorrow.  This unique competition allows graduate students from across the university system to present their research in a condensed format.  The rules provide that presentations be given with one slide and no props, within 3 minutes, before a panel of non-specialist judges.  Jason is researching bio-energy and the use of green algae as fuel, while Sean’s research explores the workings of memory.  Members of the Laurentian community will be able to watch the proceedings live-streamed through the link below.

Mineral Exploration, Mine Development and the role of the Ontario Securities Commission.

This one hour presentation will delve into the past and current roles of the Ontario Securities Commission and the evolution and reasoning behind the changes. Ms. Jensen will expand on the current regulatory environment, the inherent challenges and anticipated outcomes as they relate to mineral exploration and mine development.
